Similarly, Optional Earthquake Insurance can be taken out for buildings used for commercial and industrial purposes.
Maximum Coverage Limit
DASK provides coverage at a maximum amount determined by the increase in construction costs each year. The maximum coverage amount provided by DASK is 150 thousand TL for all types of structures as of January 1, 2013.
When determining the maximum coverage amount, the cost of rebuilding the demolished residence (excluding the land value) is taken into account. The coverage amount (insurance amount) of the insured is determined according to the size and construction style of their residence - provided that it does not exceed the maximum coverage amount.
If the value of the residence exceeds the maximum coverage amount provided by DASK, the insured can optionally receive additional coverage from insurance companies for the exceeding part. For this, you must have home insurance from private insurance companies.
The amount of DASK premium is determined by 3 factors:
Earthquake risk zone where the building is located,
Building style,
Gross surface area of the residence.
